Splendid Leopard Wrasse

Splendid Leopard Wrasse

Latin Name Macropharyngodon bipartitus
Common Name Splendid Leopard Wrasse
Also known as Divided Leopard Wrsse
Fast Facts Also known as the Divided Wrasse or African Leopard Wrasse, this African species is rarely available and never plentiful. Be sure to act immediately when available because they sell out fast! This lovely species is only exported from eastern Africa. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to keep. Do not attempt without a reef tank with plenty of live rock, live sand, and willingness to gamble. Live substrate should be provided, as it will need the associated micro-invertebrates to supplement its diet. It will bury under the sand when threatened or stressed. A productive refugium will help provide a constant source of natural prey. Will not bother other fishes, but is very prone to be picked on by any fish that isn't extremely docile.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a restricted species and is not covered by our live arrival guarantee. They are delicate shippers and difficult to maintain.
