Emerald Green Coris Wrasse

Emerald Green Coris Wrasse

Latin Name Halichoeres chloropterus
Common Name Emerald Green Coris Wrasse
Also known as Pastel Green Wrasse, Green "Coris" Wrasse
Fast Facts This popular wrasse is fairly hardy once established. They are generally delicate shippers. Juveniles are lime green, while adults are lighter with green and pink markings on the "face" and a dark blotch on the side. Although smaller individuals are quite passive, large specimens can be pugnacious toward conspecifics and other wrasses (especially those introduced to a tank after they are). If you want to keep more than one in the same tank, select smaller individuals. This species must be provided with a 2 inch layer of fine sand on the aquarium bottom in which it will sleep and escape to when chased.
