We always have customers waiting for this fish, so be prepared to jump if you're serious. Known only from around remote Easter Island, Centropyge hotumatua has one of the smallest distributions of all species of angelfishes and is sole the reason for collection at this location. The only other fish collected at Easter Island is the butterfly Chaetodon litus, the "Easter Island Butterfly", another species found only here. Like most pygmy angels the Easter Island Pygmy feeds primarily on algae and does great in captivity. If you're serious about obtaining this fish, please contact us to get on the waiting list, and be prepared for a long wait as it may be years between collections of this fish. Most specimens that are collected go to Japan, so be prepared to jump if one is availblae. |
