Annularis Angel

Annularis Angel

Latin Name Pomacanthus annularis
Common Name Annularis Angel
Also known as Blue Ring Angel, Blue King Angel, Annularis
Fast Facts As in many members of the genus, juveniles and adults differ greatly in color. Juveniles of this species are dark blue, with alternating white and light blue stripes and a white tail. Adults are light golden brown with curving, fluorescent blue stripes on the head, body and fins. The tail is white in adults as well. This species is usually quite shy when first introduced to its captive home. During this stage of the acclimation process it will spend much of its time hiding behind aquarium decor and will race for cover whenever anyone approaches the tank. For this reason, it is imperative to have several suitable hiding places for your bluering angelfish. Once it acclimates it is an aggressive feeder and can become bold with tankmates. In time, they learn to recognize the aquarist as a source of food. This species requires a large aquarium with plenty of swimming space.
